June 23rd, 2025 – CMF Visits Leshan People’s Hospital to Monitor Long-Term Impact
CMF Board Chairman Alex NG, CEO Estella HUANG LUNG, and the CMF team visited Leshan People’s Hospital – CMF’s 35th NICU site – to monitor program sustainability and reconnect with frontline medical staff.
Since its launch in 2024, the NICU has continued to deliver high-quality care to critically ill newborns from surrounding rural counties. We are pleased to see that trained staff have returned to the hospital and actively introduced new technologies and services, further strengthening the hospital’s neonatal care capacity. The unit remains stable and efficient, and is gradually growing into a regional referral and training center for lower-level hospitals.
“Thanks for the support of the Children’s Medical Foundation, I trained at Shanghai Children’s Medical Center, leveling up my skills in preterm care, neonatal resuscitation, and team collaboration. Back at my department, I led the introduction of new practices and shared knowledge to uplift the whole team. Thanks to this support, we’re not just saving babies who couldn’t be saved before—we’re giving every newborn their strongest possible start.“— Dr. Song Liyao
