On April 24th, 2016, Children’s Medical Foundation visited baby Zhao who was the beneficiary of the Neonatal Care Unit program in Pu’er. He was born full-term, but diagnosed with intrauterine infection in the lungs and weighed only 1488 grams. With instructions from Guangzhou Women and Children’s Medical Center, the trained doctors and nurses in Pu’er People’s Hospital were able to adjust the ventilator accordingly and treat him successfully. After staying in NICU for 19 days, and for another 10 days in the neonatal ward, baby Zhao was discharged from the hospital in good condition.

Baby Zhao was happy and healthy, letting everybody from Hong Kong coddle and carry him, when the group visited him.
