We are very excited to announce an extremely generous donation from Domaine Clarence Dillon and Château Haut-Brion.  In celebration of the 75th anniversary of their family company, Domaine Clarence Dillon has created a limited number of hand-crafted consoles containing the best vintages of the last 75 years of Château Haut-Brion.  Two of these consoles – one containing red wines, and one containing white wines – will be auctioned on November 26, 2011 thorough Christie’s in Hong Kong, with the entire sale price being donated to the Children’s Medical Foundation.

The following is the auction lot description from Christie’s:

A Special Consignment from the Legendary Château Haut-Brion
Sold to Benefit the Children’s Medical Foundation

The legendary Château Haut-Brion is the oldest of the five First Growth estates in Bordeaux, conceived of and laid out by Jean de Pontac in 1533.  Leading the sale and consigned directly from the Château is a special lot featuring an assortment of the best and most rare vintages of the château housed in an exquisite wooden consoleconstructed by LINLEY of London.

Console number three of fifteen holds eight top vintages of Haut-Brion produced between 1935 and 2009, including the mythical 1945 vintage.  Offered as a separate lot is a second console, number two of five, which holds eight vintages of Haut-Brion Blanc produced between 1969 and 2007.  Both lots also include silverware from renowned Italian silversmith and jewellery designer, Buccellati, hidden in the console’s ingeniously crafted secret drawers, as well as a beautiful wooden box containing two Château Haut-Brion-design carafes and 12 glasses finely engraved with the logos of Domaine Clarence Dillon and Château Haut-Brion.  A further highlight is the pledge of the winery to deliver to the winners of these two superlots lots six bottles of its very highly acclaimed 2010 vintage upon bottling in the autumn of 2012.    Each console and its eight bottles of perfect provenance are estimated at HK$1-2 million.  The total sale proceeds of these two lots will be donated to the Children’s Medical Foundation and their work to help make healthcare available for newborn babies in rural, poor regions in China.
