In March, the final County NICU training session wrapped up in Cangyuan County, Lincang—officially completing a monumental effort to strengthen neonatal care in all 28 program counties across Yunnan Province.
Spanning six major prefectures—Honghe, Pu’er, Nujiang, Lincang, Dali, and Zhaotong—this neonatal health care training initiative has significantly elevated the capacity of county-level hospitals to provide timely, life-saving care for vulnerable newborns. It ensures that even families in the most remote regions can now access the specialized medical support their babies need.
As a next step, the county hospital NICUs in Yunnan and Guizhou, above, will undergo final evaluation, to measure the program’s intended impact.
